Mileage is the total number of kilometres you’re allowed to drive during your rental. Drive mate uses a hybrid mileage model, depending on the type of trip you book:

Daily trips → Upfront full trip price
Hourly trips → Distance is charged at the trip end

Daily Trips

How payment works

  • You pay the full trip price upfront when booking.

  • Every daily booking includes 250 km per day.

What can be charged after your trip

  • Extra distance (if you exceed 250 km/day)

  • Late return fees (if applicable)

Excess mileage

  • Any distance over 250 km per day is charged at $0.55 per kilometre.

Note - If you go over the included distance, extra charges will apply based on Drive mate’s Fees and Fines Policy.

Hourly Trips

How payment works

  • You pay for the trip duration upfront.

  • Distance driven is calculated after the trip ends.

After your trip

  • Distance travelled is charged based on actual usage.

  • Late return fees may apply if the vehicle is returned late.
