As a host, how can I report damage?

If you find new damage after checking your car and you believe it has happened during a Drive mate trip, then ensure that you take clear photos of the damage and send it to us at support@drivemate.au. Once we receive the information, we will advise next steps.

If the damage means the car is not roadworthy or can't be driven

  1. Block out your car’s calendar indefinitely so a guest can't book it.

  2. Contact the guest of any upcoming booking and ask them to cancel. We won’t charge them for any cancellation.

  3. Drive mate will pay hosts $25 compensation for any full days the car is undriveable, or in the garage for repairs, to a maximum of 14 days.

Damage reporting timelines

For cars based within 5 kms of host's home address, the window for reporting damage is 24 hours from time of trip end.

For cars based beyond 5 kms of host's home address, the window for reporting damage is 14 days from date and time of trip end.
