Cover Information
Part A - Loss or Damage. This covers loss or damage to your Motor Vehicle(s) that occurs during the Period of Insurance, both during the rental period and while the vehicle is not being rented.

Part B - Liability to Third Parties $35,000,000, including Supplementary Bodily Injury for registered vehicles (excluding vehicles registered in the Northern Territory), but limited to $2,500,000 for Dangerous Goods unless otherwise specified.

Part A of this policy is extended to cover a Host’s Motor Vehicle(s) that are registered and available for rental via the Drive Mate platform, including while they are under a rental agreement between a Host and Guest, executed via the Drive Mate platform, for loss or damage.

The maximum GT Insurance will pay under Part A is $70,000 per event. "Motor Vehicle(s)" refers to motor vehicles up to 5T GVM, owned by Hosts who rent their vehicles via the Drive Mate platform, including: a) Any manufacturer’s accessories, equipment, and options fitted to them, and b) Fixed unspecified accessories.

The maximum GT Insurance will pay for items under b) is limited to $10,000, inclusive and not exceeding the Market Value per Event per Motor Vehicle unless otherwise agreed.

Usage of the vehicle when not rented by a guest is permitted by the policy and is extended to allow up to 2,000 kilometres of incidental use annually for each motor vehicle. If this threshold is exceeded, the policy will no longer respond to any loss or damage incurred outside a rental period.

Any loss or damage claimed during usage while not being rented is subject to a $1,000 excess.

Where an Insured Item is registered or licensed for use on public roads as required by law, we will cover the Host for any amount they become legally liable to pay as compensation for loss or damage to someone else’s property caused by an Accident during the Period of Insurance, within the Territorial Limits, when it is partly or fully the fault of the Host or Guest, up to the Limit of Indemnity applicable to Part B.

This cover only applies if the legal liability for loss or damage to someone else’s property arises out of the use of a Host’s Motor Vehicle during a rental period and is subject to the applicable excess, conditions, exclusions, and limit of indemnity.

To ensure that you are covered under this policy, you should always contact us for approval before incurring any costs you wish to claim. If you do not, we will only pay the amount we would have authorised had you asked first. The maximum we will pay for any one accident is the Limit of Indemnity. The indemnity provided under Part B will also apply to any drivers listed as an "Authorised Driver" under a rental agreement.
