Can other people drive my Drive mate car during the rental period?
Yes — but only if they are also verified drivers on Drive mate.
Requirements for Additional Drivers
Anyone who wants to drive the vehicle during your rental must:
Be a verified Drive mate driver.
This means they have completed the licence verification process, met age requirements, and been approved by our team.
Be listed on the booking (if required).
Some vehicle owners may request that all drivers be disclosed ahead of time.
Check your booking details or contact the owner directly if you're unsure.
Adding an Additional Driver
Additional drivers should ideally be added during the booking process.
If the booking has already been confirmed, the guest must:
Contact Customer Service
Provide the email address of the additional driver so we can document it manually
Please note:
The secondary driver must also have a verified Drive mate account
The guest should inform the host about the secondary driver as well, since this information will not appear in the booking details at pickup
To Become a Verified Driver
Visit the Driver Verification page and follow the steps to upload your licence & details.
Verification usually takes less than 24 hours.
Insurance Reminder
Only verified drivers are covered under Drive mate’s insurance policy.
If someone drives the car without being verified, they may not be covered, and you could be liable for damages.
