If your car is damaged during a Drive mate trip and becomes undriveable or is in an authorised workshop for repairs, you may be eligible for loss of use compensation.

Eligibility

You can receive compensation only if:

  • The damage occurred during a Drive mate trip.

  • The damage makes your car undriveable or it is undergoing repairs at one of our authorised workshops.

  • The car is unavailable to you during this period (i.e., not just unavailable for Drive mate bookings).

Compensation Details

  • Amount: $25 per day

  • Maximum duration: 14 days per incident

  • How it works: The amount is charged to the guest who caused the damage.

  • Purpose: This helps cover your mobility needs while your car is out of service (e.g., public transport or alternative transport costs).

Exclusions

  • Mechanical failures or tyre issues not caused by a guest are not eligible.

  • Delays caused by you (e.g., postponing repair, choosing a non-authorised workshop) are not covered.

  • This is not compensation for lost rental income.

  • Subscription fees will continue to apply during this period.

  • Vehicles declared as a total loss are not eligible.
