When you book your first trip on Drive mate, a refundable security deposit between $100 and $300 is charged to your card.
This is a one-time deposit held when you first start using Drive mate.
1. Why is a security deposit needed?
The deposit helps us create a trusted and safe experience for both guests and car owners.
2. When is the deposit refunded?
The deposit is generally held for your first 1 to 3 trips.
Most guests see it refunded after just one successful trip, but in some cases, it may take a little longer, up to three trips depending on a variety of factors. Once eligible, the deposit is automatically refunded.
Alternatively, you can request to withdraw the deposit at any time from the platform.
Do note that a deposit refund will not take place while you are on an active trip or have an upcoming trip.
Once you raise the refund request our team will review and refund the deposit within the next 24-72 hours.
If you have not completed the 1st trip on the platform yet, then the next time you book a trip this security deposit will be charged again.
