What is Drive mate Go and how does it work?
Drive mate Go is a technology that we have introduced which allows keyless access to cars on our platform. With this technology, our hosts can now unlock their cars with their phones via a cloud key, and share this access with their guests, friends and family. This technology is brought to our hosts in collaboration with Quantum Inventions.
Drive mate Go is a state of the art technology used to enable keyless access to cars. Hosts with eligible vehicles can choose to become a Drive mate Go host.
For getting Drive mate Go installed in their car, hosts can choose to request for an eligibility check here https://drivemate.au/go-host . Once hosts apply for an eligibility check, one of our team members will be in touch with you regarding installation.
With Drive mate Go you are able to locate your car anytime except during a trip — location data is disabled to honour guest privacy. Rest assured, Drive mate can access your car’s location in case of emergency.
Costs
There is a subscription fee of $30/month with a subsidised installation cost of $50/ car.
With Drive mate Go, you get guaranteed returns. We guarantee you that you will earn 2x of your monthly subscription minimum. If that doesn't happen, we reimburse the amount to you. Find out more about our guarantee program here.
In case you choose to uninstall the device within a year or less than 10 trips on the car, then an uninstallation fee of $125 will be charged.
On-time payment of subscription
As a Drive mate Go host, you are automatically charged once a month on the date you signed up. If your billing date is scheduled for a day that does not occur in every month (for example, the 31st), you will be billed on the last day of that month instead.
The credit card you used upon signing of the contract will be used for that. If you want to change payment details, please do so in account details.
In case a payment was declined by the bank, please check that your payment information such as postal code, security code and expiration date are correct. If not, then please change in your Drive mate account. Also inform us that you have missed the payment and made changes to your payment details. The first time late payment will bear no charges. The second and subsequent times we will charge $15 each time, and may result in cancellation of the subscription by Drive mate. In that case an uninstallation fee of $125 will be charged.
Trip Process
Simply follow the pickup process, i.e. when the pickup request is received you review it and then confirm.
Confirming the pickup request is the most important step in the new Drive mate Go system. As soon as you confirm the pickup request, the guest gets access to your car and can now unlock and lock from their end through the app. They will be prompted to take pictures of the state of the car, inside and out.
Once the guest returns your car, then he/she will lock the car the car via the app and send you a drop off request. Once you confirm drop off request, they no longer have access to the car. You'll still need to check the status of the car within 24 hours to be eligible for Drive mate protection.
Trouble Shooting
If for any reason the pickup process is not followed (Guest are not able to send the request or Hosts could not confirm the request), guest will not be able to get the access to the car. In such cases hosts should do the following:
Get in touch with the Drive mate Support team immediately and let them know the Trip ID and the issue faced.
The support team from the backend will update the status of the booking, thus providing your guest the access to the car.
Guests will now be able to access the car from via the Lock and Unlock buttons from the trip page.
